MANAGER: DURBAN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

Based within the College of Humanities of the University of KwaZulu-Natal, the Centre for Creative Arts (CCA) produces four annual festivals - Time of the Writer, Durban International Film Festival, Jomba! and Contemporary Dance Festival and Poetry Africa. CCA seeks to appoint a Film Festival Manager for the Durban International Film Festival. The Film Festival manager shall be involved in a full range of activities as required to bring about successful implementation of the Durban International Film Festival, principally, as well as other CCA festivals and activities. The successful candidate should have to provide expertise in the following areas:

? Conceptualizing festival design and thematic content

? Developing strategies for Audience Development

? Festival Programming

? Festival Implementation

? Production of festival publications and publicity

? Staff management

? Financial Negotiation

Minimum Requirements:

? Three (3) year tertiary qualification

? Three (3) years proven curation and management experience of significant recognised Film Festival/s

? Established networks, an understanding of relevant film industry players and organizations, and a grasp of salient film-related issues is essential.

? Good communication skills

? Proven experience with a word processing computer package

? Valid Driver’s license
