1. DURBAN FILMMART INSTITUTE BACKGROUND
The Durban FilmMart Institute (DFMI) is a newly registered NPC. The mission of the Durban FilmMart Institute is to provide appropriate and effective programmes and services in order to promote, support and facilitate investment in the African film industries, so that African film industry professional and products are competitive and celebrated globally.

2. MAIN OBJECTIVE AND SCOPE OF WORK TO BE UNDERTAKEN
The Durban FilmMart Institute requires the services of a skilled and experienced Financial administrator / Bookkeeper who will play a vital role in executive financial. The post requires organisational and office management skills, the ability to prioritise, good inter-personal and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. The successful applicant must be able to work as a member of a team, handle a variety of responsibilities, work with a high degree of discretion and independence, and meet pressured deadlines.
The job involves allocation and administration of funds, timeous collation and preparation of financial information and reports, and close liaison with the General Manager, auditors, external funders and service providers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Book Keeping
· Record and maintain daily financial transactions
· Prepare reports for the General Manager
· Prepare general ledger and trial balances
· Ran payroll and issue payslips
· Generate quotes and invoices
Execute Payment
· Administer all payments by preparing necessary requisitions and accompanying documents
· Follow up with external suppliers for outstanding invoices
· Meet payment deadlines set out by the suppliers
· Ensure all payments are properly filed electronically
Administer Procurement processes
· Source quotes
· Administer the organisation’s procurement policy
Administer Auditing Processes
· Compile preliminary schedules for the Income and Expenditure statements
· Compile and supply audit supporting documentation
· Answering auditor’s queries to assist with a smooth and successful audit process
Administer Funding Processes
· Keep track of local and international funders contractual agreements and requirements
· Prepare financial reports according funders requirements
Administer VAT and SARS Processes
· Process the organisations VAT, PAYE, UIF and other SARS related matters
· Manage SARS queries
· Ensure the organization is VAT and TAX compliant
Provide Managers with financial information as required
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
· Senior Certificate
· Tertiary qualification in Commerce
· Proficiency in MS Suite
· Proficiency in a reputable accounting software
· 3 years experience in similar environment
